Charter Review Ideas Welcome – 10/6/2010
A subcommittee comprised of Burgesses Tony Campbell, Mike Ciacciarella and Bob Neth has been charged with investigating potential issues to address through charter revision. In the coming months, the subcommittee will make recommendations to the Board of Mayor and Burgesses with regard to the creation of a formal charter revision commission.
We encourage citizens to offer suggestions regarding any potential additions and/or revisions to our Charter. The Borough’s Charter, Special Acts and Ordinances may be viewed electronically here. Suggestions can be sent to our office at

Enzo Giadani said,
I applaud your efforts to revisit the policies within the town. I think a major factor that should be examined should be the method of trash collection and disposal. I have a friend who continues to be frustrated and contact the street department with little long-term resolution after viewing the weekly mess that is made through the town’s collection of trash. I agree that usually “more trash is put on the streets than in the trucks” at times and collection methods and policies should be revisited. I would like to see fines imposed to the city’s workers if necessary when collection leads to more waste on our roadways and sidewalks than taken away. The litter continues to be a menice in our streets for our children to play in each day. Please strongly consider a covert investigation over multiple days and locations for an accurate view of what citizen have to deal with each week.
