This update is being directed to residents in the Krodel Road and Evelyn Drive area. Power to your streets originates on a large Middlebury circuit. This circuit has sustained significant damage, particularly close to your homes on Shadduck Road. Two (2) Connecticut Light and Power crews are currently working on that circuit in Middlebury, which must be fixed before restoring power to Evelyn Drive and Krodel Road. CL&P does not expect power to be restored today (11/4/2011), but is optimistic for Saturday (11/5/2011).
Members of the Naugatuck Fire Department will be making deliveries of meals-ready-to-eat and water to residents of Evelyn Drive and Krodel Road.
Connecticut Light and Power is aware of our continued frustration, and the need to address your area with all available resources.

Currently four (4%) percent of Naugatuck remains without power, which represents about six hundred seventy five (675) customers. Two (2) Connecticut Light and Power (“CL&P”) crews are currently working in Naugatuck, and a third (3rd) should be arriving within the hour.
- One (1) crew is working on the Golden Hill Street circuit.
- The second (2nd) crew is working on the Lewis Street and Andrew Avenue circuits.
- The third (3rd) crew will be dispatched to the remaining May Street circuit which includes the following streets: Vine Street, McKinley Street, Johnson Street, John Street, Greenwood Street, Fuller Street, Forest Street, Bingham Street, Baldwin Street, Albion Street and Auburn Street.
- An underground line testing crew will be investigating the problems with the underground lines on Nicole Drive.
- CL&P is also working to ensure that the Evelyn Drive / Krodel Road area is energized today.
Any damage to the exterior connections to individual homes is the responsibility of the homeowner. CL&P will repair the line to the home, but not any connections attached to the house. Please call a licensed electrician if this affects your home.
Andrew Avenue Elementary School, located at 140 Andrew Avenue, will be functioning as a warming and shower station until 5:00 PM, and providing lunch to residents without power. Andrew Avenue will not be available as an overnight shelter tonight (11/4/2011) based on low demand. Overnight shelters are available within the region. Please contact the Naugatuck Fire Department at 203-720-7082, or 203-720-7083, for more information or to arrange transportation to an out-of-town shelter.
The Howard Whittemore Library will remain open as a warming station, offering lights snacks and beverages. Residents may charge cell phones and other personal computing devices at this location and any other Borough building that is open.

Our Connecticut Light and Power (“CL&P”) liaison is briefing at the regional command center and should return to Naugatuck between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM this morning (11/4/2011) with more detailed information about today’s (11/4/2011) work plan. I will post those details shortly thereafter.
There are currently six hundred seventy four (674) Naugatuck customers, or about four (4%) percent, without power as of 8:00 AM on the CL&P outage map.

About five (5%) percent of Naugatuck, or about eight hundred thirty nine (839) customers, remain without power tonight (11/3/2011) according to the Connecticut Light and Power (“CL&P”) outage map as of 10:30 PM. While that number has been reduced significantly from the beginning of today (11/3/2011), that is of little comfort to those entering their seventh (7th) day without power. We expect several CL&P crews to return in the morning (11/4/2011), and will be glad to field questions on specific areas that still need power restoration.
Many of the homes that remain without power by tomorrow (11/4/2011) will be isolated neighborhoods and even single homes that have line issues within circuits. We strongly encourage residents without power to inform us of their exact location so that we can make our CL&P liaison aware of the outage. We are already aware of many of these issues. It usually takes us a couple hours in the morning to assess the outages and schedule after our CL&P liaison arrives (usually around 9:30 AM) after the regional briefing. Please feel free to email information to bob@bobmezzo.com or call my cell at 203-217-0876 should you want to convey the same privately rather than online.

The 19K4 line connecting the Millville Avenue and Hoadley Street circuits is just about complete. The last task remains the resetting of an AT&T pole.
The 21L3 line connects customers on the following circuits: Maple Hill Street, Wooster Street, May Street, Mulberry Street, Andrew Avenue, Lewis Street and Simsberry Road. Three (3) Connecticut Light and Power (“CL&P”) crews are working in various locations along this large line, which connects over one thousand one hundred (1,100) customers. Various reports of power restoration have been reported.
A crew was working on the last parts of the large 21L8 line along New Haven Road. Kingswood Drive has been restored, and we believe power to Clark Hill Road will be returning shortly. There is a problem with the underground lines on Nicole Drive, which will take longer to fix. A specialized crew is usually needed when fixing underground power lines. CL&P is aware of this situation.
There is another line, 19K3, which serves other areas of May Street, including streets around Johnson Street. There is apparently extensive damage in this area. We are pressing to get crews to relocate to this line once other restorations are complete.
Even when main circuits are fixed, there still could be individual problems with lines connecting specific neighborhoods and even single homes which will prevent restoration of power. It will usually take longer to have power restored to these isolated outages.
We appreciate information from residents when power is restored.
